These are not original Russian/Soviet made S1 bi-pods. These are knock-offs. However, these are the same bi-pods as russmilitary and several other vendors are selling as original Izhmash made bi-pods. As a matter of fact I purchased a number of them from russmilitary about 3 years ago for $700 each.
I normally do not endorse any non-original Soviet/Russian made items, but upon comparison of this knock-off with the original Soviet made one, I have to admit that it is virtually identical.
Below is a picture comparison of the two. The first 2 pictures show an original Soviet S1 mounted to my Tigr, followed by pictures of the 2 bi-pods being weighed. The original S1 is a little lighter due to the fact that it doesn't have the retracktable spikes. Then you'll see pictures of the 2 bi-pods together with the original being on top and finally the last 2 pictures show the knock-off mounted to the Tigr.
The overall feel of the manufacturing, material, parts, attention to detail and how it locks up to the rifle is almost identical between the two bi-pods.
The original bi-pod as well as the pictured rifle are not for sale.
